“I’m not afraid of the Big Bad Wolfdog!”
They are giving each other submissive ears, so it’s okay—no dogs, large or small—were harmed at the Pittsburgh Pet Expo! The chihuahua was simply trotting along with her person and came right over to the larger dog, who really is 3/4 timber wolf and 1/4 German Shepherd. She’s a rescue from a breeder who was crossing the two species illegally and had the puppies confiscated. She is very calm and quiet, rarely barking and tends to keep to herself, and this may be why the little chihuahua was happy to greet her.
I saw both larger and smaller dogs than these two, but none more colorful than the ones below. These color treatments are done with pet-safe temporary sprays that was out, and dogs don’t seem to mind these things. I find it a bit much, but who knows what I’d do if I had a standard poodle with lots of curly hair?
This rainbow dog was in the grooming competition.
Ashley was in the grooming competition as well.
This poodle had candy corn toes and a flapper hat!
And this greyhound needs a pedicure. But she was my buddy.
