Daily Photo: Big Yawn!

There is just so much here, big whiskers, big yawn, furs and teefs and #tabbytuesday and #toungueouttuesday and #whiskerswednesday. And a cold front came through after Hurricane Ida’s rains and we can relax and enjoy life again instead of dragging ourselves around here in the heat.

It’s a bee-fest out there this morning. Busy #bumblebee is trying to get into a rose turtlehead flower, wearing his bee pants. Thanks @rebeccahd33 for that! They collect pollen in a special pocket on their hind legs.

#beebutt in a #roseturtlehead flower, looks like the flower is eating the bee.

Demands, 2020

Relax, guys, it’s just a salad.
A couple of others have joined the demonstration. They always have to watch me when I work in the kitchen. Human + kitchen = possibility of food, right?

-0000000=— That’s what Jelly Bean had to say when he cut across the keyboard.
All of today’s photos were originally on Instagram. We had a great weekend—pleasant weather, quiet, and the kitties were happy I had a lot of design work, writing and illustrating still to do on Saturday that I was inside all day.
“Mr. Sunshine finally caught the moth that’s been fluttering around in my studio and had a great mid-afternoon snack. I’m just glad he finally caught the thing that I couldn’t chase out the window because everyone was chasing it around my studio and that was going to turn into a disaster.”

Getting kind of crowded in here.

In between a lot of actual work over the weekend, I also got a lot of work done one my actual computers, this following two days with storms and power outages and a Comcast outage. I finished setting up the other new used computer in my studio and I am just tickled that it’s fast and quiet and I can get work done much more quickly than I have been. When I finished with the work I also set up the backup drive to back up about 2T, that’s two terrabytes, of files. It’s taking extra long because I have many large files like artwork and graphic design files. I have the computer that was in my studio in the kitchen, ready to finish setting up as soon as I clean out the space where it will go.
On Sunday I went over to “Aunt Mary’s” house to help her with a few projects, and went to our monthly meeting with the Panhandle Trail council to plan making up for events that won’t be happening. This weekend would have been Rock the Quarry, our 20th anniversary event, and my seventh exhibit. I’m really missing it, and I know everyone else at our meeting was too. Sometime in September or October I’ll share the images I would have had for the exhibit, and new gift items. But I can tell you kitties were really glad I wasn’t away all weekend!
Welp, guess I’ll work standing up today.

On Monday we got back to work with phone calls, a little shopping and more design work, and it’s going to be a jam-packed week. Also, the USB port where I had been plugging my DSLR to download photos decided to quit working a couple of weeks ago and I’ve had to go to the upstairs computer to download, then move them through Dropbox to the computer downstairs. Way too complicated! So you haven’t seen as many photos lately as I’d like to be sharing, but I rearranged my USB items and installed a USB hub to plug in a bunch of things and it works like a dream. I am geekily very happy. But I didn’t get a chance to sit down until later.
I really don’t stand a chance today.

Looks like the faeries are planning a big Friday night party underneath the Virginia creeper leaves.

We had heavy storms on Thursday with lots of power outages, then Friday again with a few more storms and crews fixing the lines. My internet and phone had a lot of difficulty, so I just gave up. Instead, I set up one of my new used computers for greater efficiency, supurrvised by all the felines because when you move something out of the place it’s been in for even a short while, everyone has to inspect the “new” area, and sit there for a while. I’ve also a continuation of bigger, time-consuming projects as Deb from Chartiers Custom Pet Cremation and I create a virtual Pet Memorial Sunday celebration with video and slideshow presentations. After this weekend, all of those larger projects, and setting up networking among the new group of computers, should be completed and I’ll be able to spend more time with what I love, painting, writing, creating new things, and sharing all of it with you.

Napping on the Edge, 2019

I was reorganizing my office/shop room, but someone was napping on the edge of a stack of boxes so I had to work around her. Bella gets herself into some of the most interesting poses, legs everywhere.

Today’s studiosupurrvisor is sending me a subtle message. Mimi sleeps behind the monitor on the nice warm computer. But that doesn’t mean she’s not keeping me under control.

Daily Photo: You’re So Funny!, 2018

Continuing Basil’s basket bizarrity, he apparently has a good laugh on my behalf after giving him a belly rub. Actually, I don’t know when I’ve ever photographed such a purrfect cat yawn, whiskers and all. He was having so much fun in the basket I found it hard to stop. Then he got all innocent on me. He really knows how to pull my strings.

Boxes and Baskets and Birdwatching

Basil on a pile of papers, Giuseppe in a box, Hamlet in his favorite basket, lots of sunshine, breezes, and a great station on Cat TV. Cats don’t need fancy things to celebrate World Cat Day, just as long as they have things they like EVERY day. Or else.

I Heard There Was A Meeting…

“Did someone call a meeting, about…kittens?” Giuseppe asks, joining Mr. Sunshine and Mewsette. The little ones have been permitted an hour or two in the first and second floors of the house. The door to the basement is blocked, and whoever is down there looking out the basement door is kind of stuck, as is whoever is upstairs with…the kittens. Actually, it’s gone really well. Each kitten has a favorite spot and spends lots of time looking out the windows and doors in ones, twos and threes. The big cats might complain, but they also herd the kittens around and give them little licks. This scene happened after the kittens had invaded a really good nap on my work table.
Below, however, Giuseppe and Bean stuff themselves into a small peach box. It seems they are invisible to kittens when they are in the box. Well, they make the rules around here.

And three kittens held perfectly still for a record 18 seconds. Cat TV taken to a whole new level.

Alvina found it first, but the others soon joined her. They seem to have an unspoken communication where they all come together when it’s something important. Like a bright red bird, right there, on the feeder!

Love the yawn and love those whiskers!
They are pretty spectacular!
