Daily Photo: You Ate My Toys!

You ate my toys!
You ate my toys!

We had an international incident here today. Wait…maybe it wasn’t that Brussels. No, it was probably Brussels sprouts instead. But in any case. I caught some photos of Sunshine and Giuseppe and their disgusted expressions and thought that was pretty funny.

Come on boys, I don't like your food!

But then Basil got in on the act and decided he had the little round things figured out and pulled one out of the pan and chased it around the room! I have to say that I really don’t let my cats play with my food, but it was pretty funny to watch them check out my food and give me slightly frightened looks.

The best expression was the one at the top, though, when Basil saw me eating the Brussels sprouts. I hope I haven’t scarred his delicate psyche to see me eating his toys.

Mimi was pressed into service again today because I had to reshoot the photos of the sampler box from yesterday. Dappled sun is beautiful, but it sure makes it difficult to see the detail in a piece of artwork. Mimi was politely looking at the contents of the November Feline Sampler Box, but then the squirrel hopped onto the bird feeder and she had no interest in my silly stuff. So have a good look at our sampler box!

What other photos have I shared on or around this date?

Lucky Seven, 2010
My Lucky Seven cats.
My Lucky Seven cats.

From this day in 2010…

Here they are in a really lucky shot—all seven of my household ON the cabinet! Cookie and Kelly got their special noms as senior girls while I was working in the kitchen, and one by one all the others gathered around. Normally I don’t let all the others up on the cabinet, but they moved in so quickly, but quietly, not trying to steal food or interfere, and then I realized the photo potential.

In front, the two tortie girls with their faces in the bowls are Kelly and Cookie. Behind are Mewsette, Mr. Sunshine, Giuseppe, Jelly Bean and Mimi.

This cabinet is only about 20″ x 30″, but when food is an issue they can crowd anywhere, though I think this might be the absolute capacity for this particular crowd of cats.

Still loving those senior kitties during Senior Pet Month.
