Daily Photo: Above All That

Mewsette in her own little corner on her own little shelf…

Mewsette is happy on her shelf near the ceiling above the landing at the top of the stairs, possibly the highest point in the house for any cat to achieve without getting into the attic. She stayed up there all day, occasionally calling me to come up and join her. I was touched, but feared for the integrity of the shelf should I actually be able to get onto it.

She’s done a pretty good job keeping the cobwebs under control too.

This was just too funny one of the times I came to the top of the steps and looked up.

Toes.

Guess this was why we didn’t have a big cuddle puddle today.

  • Great spot! We have cat shelves all around the living area in our home too. Just be careful. I once walked under one and a big ole sleeping tuxedo cat rolled off the shelf at that very moment and fell right on top of my head! It’s funny now, but I think I had a minor concussion back then lol

    • Anne, the history of this was that I installed it years ago for houseplants that came in for the winter. When Mewsette (and Jelly Bean) discovered it I had to remove the plants after finding a spider plant in a clay pot a little too close to the edge for my comfort. Didn’t want that on my head, or worse, any kitty’s!
