Cats for Adoption: Ophelia is Ready to Start Looking!

Adopt me!
Adopt me!

You’ve watched her grow up and mature, and now Ophelia is ready for her debut. She is about a year old and is petite and pretty, and she suffers from an incurable cuteness that her adopter will just have to understand.

Look at my beautiful eyes.
Look at my beautiful eyes.

She uses her round amber eyes to charm, and flaps her tail in all directions when she’s excited, which is just about all the time, and chases that tail when it tries to get out of hand.

Tail chasing!
Tail chasing!

She and Hamlet were rescued as feral kittens, tried to socialize, were placed in a barn because they didn’t, then were brought back because they were frightened. Both took a long time to adjust to living indoors.

Birds and squirrels and chipmunks, oh my!Birds and squirrels and chipmunks, oh my!
Birds and squirrels and chipmunks, oh my!

But now, she has her shy moments but Ophelia is all about playing, birdwatching, and looking beautiful.

Pet my belly!
Pet my belly!

She loves to be petted and flops over for rubs on that fluffy belly. She is ready to begin her search!

I am so beautiful.
I am so beautiful.

How to adopt Ophelia!

All cats are available through Pittsburgh C.A.T. They are spayed or neutered, up to date on all vaccines, test negative for FIV/FeLV unless otherwise noted, and may be shy at first but are completely socialized to living with humans. Pittsburgh C.A.T. has an adoption application and requires veterinary checks on records of current/prior pets of all species and landlord checks if the applicant rents. If you are interested in any of these cats or other cats from Pittsburgh C.A.T., it all begins with the adoption application: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1ktXTAsBbRRxQEfjGJIcQIpITf3UsGwL6FjTprul-adc/viewform

Can’t adopt? Foster! Can’t foster? Donate or volunteer.

There are so many ways you can help cats who need homes and care. You may not have room to adopt another cat, but can foster a cat or kitten for a few weeks. If not that, you can volunteer at a shelter or with a rescue, or donate. You do this because you love your cat, and by doing so you help all cats. No matter which of these actions you take, you help to save a life, and make life better for all cats.

  • Adopt one of the cats I’ve posted here, or from any shelter or rescue near you, or from Petfinder, to open up a space for another cat to be rescued and fostered.
  • Offer to foster cats or kittens for a shelter or rescue near you.
  • Volunteer at a shelter or rescue.
  • Find a group of volunteers who work with homeless cats and help them with their efforts.
  • Donate to a shelter or rescue near you.

If you can foster kittens or adults cats to help prepare them for a forever home, please run to your nearest shelter and find a cat who needs you! Anyone can help with this effort at any level, even if all you do is donate to a shelter or rescue so they can help to pay for the food or medications needed for their foster, or the spay/neuter/veterinary care during a clinic.

Ellen, I can’t wait to see her in her own home. But a little more time here just makes her more socialized.
