Cat for Adoption: Mariposa Gets Some Space

We’ve been busy around the house here, and one exciting thing has been integrating Mariposa to the house!

She’s a whirlwind, totally fearless, curious and exploring everywhere, running to me to play with her, it’s hard to believe she grew up with a feral colony where all the others were totally nasty. Basil is her best friend right now, as he remembers how Giuseppe big-brothered him when he was a wee frightened foster exploring the upstairs for the first time.

Mariposa passed her first test of socialization—messing up the neatly-made bed!

I’ll be sharing more photos. Over the weekend I was off to trap a feral mom and kittens before they get into some trouble with the neighbors (we trapped them all and they are now in foster). Mariposa had no time out at all so we are making up for it today, Monday.

Today, Basil is making a fool of himself running up and down the steps to get Mariposa to come downstairs to play, or just to play in general. I will share a photo of that soon! The weather has been dark and rainy so it’s very dark inside and photos can be difficult, but I will share more as soon as I can.

Giuseppe, Mimi and Mewsette spend some time watching out the front door. There are birds fluttering and chipmunks racing back and forth across the porch, Fatso the squirrel runs up and down the tree now and then, butterflies and bees fly around, the leaves flutter in the breeze, now and then a car goes by, or people walk up or down the hill, sometimes with a dog. They watch it all with quiet interest. Until the chipmunk goes by. Read more and purchase.
