Daily Photo: Mlle.’s Reply

Giuseppe is swooning with his love’s reply.

Giuseppe dearest, my love ~

I have been waiting for Mama to send my message to you all day long, and all night too….
Mama has been so busy trying to make soup and paint the old kitchen buffet but she does not feel well and had to leave it all to go to our bed. So Theo and I have spent the last few hours figuring out how to use this magic message machine. And now, my dearest Giuseppe, I will tell you how I love your photograph, with your head so handsomely tilted, and how happy you have made me, once again. Giuseppe, may I be so bold as to tell you how much I love you? I may? I love you Giuseppe.

Yours forever, Mlle Daisy Emerald Marguerite. Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs & Nuzzles.

Then another part of the message was not from Mlle….

Hi Mr. Sunshine! It’s me, Theophile. I am doing the typing for Mlle. She is too busy swooning over that brother of yours. I’ve been busy, helping Mama pack boxes and looking after things in this place called Verona. I told Mama we should move to Carnegie. What do you think Brother Sunshine? (I have moved before. Born in Kingston you know…. looks like I will be going to a place called Hamilton.) Your friend, Theo (you may recall that I was once Pumpkin).

Those two could be dangerous together…as his Mama Denise told me later:

I think Sunshine sent word to Theophile. We caught him with the keys to the Cadillac this morning! We did not know he could drive!

Read about Mlle. Daisy Emerald and the long-distance affaire between the mature French-Canadian feline ladycat and the young American opera star.

They so enjoy writing florid Victorian-style letters to each other, sometimes the poets, sometimes the artists, sometimes the bonneted Mlle. Daisy Emerald and the beplumed Giuseppe Verdi in their Revolutionary roles.

~~~~~~~~
Giuseppe’s useless human apologizes for neither sending his magic messages nor leaving a computer available to Mr. Sunshine so he can transcribe his brother’s purple prose melodrama loving thoughts to his ladycat. Giuseppe is sure his beloved will never speak to him again and I am under surveillance for possible correction if she indeed does not, but I have assured him that her heart is true. They have passed their third anniversary! Surely that means something important is between them!
This Basket is Not “Just Right”, 2013
This basket is not “just right”.
Giuseppe eyes the tomato basket just in case that one might fit him better than this wimpy little white thing. He was really hoping for a good nap in a nice comfy basket, but no matter how many times he got up and turned around, tucked his legs or shuffled his behind, this was not to be.
He really doesn’t have a clear grasp of spatial relations, at least where his own body is concerned. His body is currently a little larger than it should be, but the basket is on the small side too. As is my lap sometimes when he tries to tuck himself into my lap between me and the keyboard.
And aside from the fact that the tomato basket is even smaller, I would have been pretty unhappy if he’d climbed in there and tried to hatch my tomaotes.
Amber Buttercup Says Good Morning, 2011
My ginger friend from around the corner was enjoying the early morning sun when this fool with the camera showed up again. I didn’t trouble her for too long, but she is too pretty to pass up. Amber Buttercup appears pretty regularly on The Creative Cat because she likes to nap when I’m on my way to Main Street for my occasional errands to the post office and bank.
See more photos of Amber Buttercup, including a demonstration of what she usually does next when I show up!
See other cats in windows from my walks around the neighborhood, and other neighborhood cats.
