Daily Sketch Reprise: One and Two Make Three

ink sketch of three cats
One and Two Make Three, ink on multi-media paper, 7.5″ x 6″ © B.E. Kazmarski

I’m running out of ideas for titles.

Mimi, Bean and Mr. Sunshine were enjoying the sun on the landing again today, a perfect arrangement for another sketch. When I sketch multiple cats—who are awake and therefore moving—I usually quickly and lightly sketch a few guidelines for each, then go back and add detail one at a time. If one gets up and moves or moves into a completely different position or posture I try to finish what I started. This sketch was no different, but they were near the end of their baths and getting ready for a nap (they are so predictable) and they basically stayed in the same places.

This is a Pilot precise fine point drawing pen, performed quite well as long as I don’t have heavy coverage where it tends to dry out.

Read about the reason for the daily sketches in One Year of Daily Sketches.

And download your free desktop wallpaper calendar for computer or mobile, usually based on a daily sketch.
