I’m just remembering how happy Emeraude was that autumn spending afternoons on her bathroom windowsill.

We all enjoyed this lovely warm autumn afternoon with the windows open, all the leaves on the maple trees bright yellow and falling thickly in the breeze. Emeraude spent some time in her favorite place as well. I enjoy sketching her on the windowsill, and that’s because she loves it so much, you can feel it when you’re near her.

The first daily sketch I did of her was of on this windowsill in August, all the trees deeply green outside. So I told her now it’s our goal to have four seasons with Emeraude, next will be a winter pastel of her on her windowsill, and then a spring view. She may be 19, but she’s enjoying each day to the fullest.

You can read more about Emeraude, my 19-year-old foster kitty, who spent her last months with us in 2013-2014.

Mimi joined me and sat on the windowsill to have a proper bath in preparation for an afternoon nap on my lap, and a little later Mewsette joined us and sat to watch the birds in the trees. They both sat in the same spot, but Mewsette is bigger, but Mimi turned her head the right way. So this is both of them. Read more and purchase.
