Daily Sketch: Pink and Green
Giuseppe in front and Mewsette behind, the two are hanging in the kitchen under the ceiling fan after dinner. I guess they are cuddling because they love each other, because it’s too hot to cuddle. But even though it’s hot and they are napping, they are still moving just a bit, adjusting, looking sleepily around. I like to catch their ears when they are falling asleep, swiveling around.
Perhaps I’m thinking watermelons in this heat—I certainly was craving some nice cool watermelon yesterday, and, subliminally, perhaps even their elongated shapes suggested it too. Funny how even food cravings can influence my choice of subject, style and color…
Really need some new brush markers now, I think.
. . . . . . .
Well, the day didn’t end with just the heat and the lost hard drive on my main computer. I was just about to scan this sketch around 11:00 when suddenly I saw flashes outside and heard pops, booms and bangs—and the lights went out! It looked as if the transformer across the street which I see through my spruce and birch was giving off a grand finale and I thought I might not have power again until Tuesday, especially when it looked as if two transformers were involved. But I called and so did a few others and the power company was here about a half hour from when it started and we were only without power for about an hour. It turned out a tree branch had fallen onto the top wire and was causing it to spark. All of us neighbors went out and talked to each other in the absolute darkness.
What was I sketching a year ago today?
They were clean, but I didn’t fold them fast enough…see the sketch and read the rest of the post.

Good that the power was restored fairly quickly!
It is quite warm here, but we expect the weather to cool some in the next few days 🙂
Get some watermelon and enjoy it!!!!
That sounds like a nightmare. Thank goodness for a backup. It’s really hot here, too – too hot to send cuddles, so we send big purrs.
