Daily Photo: Today’s Array

Giuseppe is singing for his dinner as six of the seven house panthers gather in the kitchen. The most difficult thing about capturing photos of them all together is: 1) most of them are moving; 2) any of my cameras have a difficult time focusing when all they see is black, and manual focus when I’m trying to keep them together is an equal challenge; and 3) someone always jumps down before it’s all together. No matter what kind of auto focus and shoot I have, all that black fur just confuses my cameras! But I still get some interesting gatherings.

Below, all seven are in the photo, taken just seconds prior to the one above, though all you can see of Smokie is his tail, and it’s all crooked because someone is beginning to jump down…

Stinkbugs for Fun and Exercise, 2010

Stinkbugs exist to make sure kitties get some exercise in the winter.

While the snow falls outside and the days are short, other kitties might be napping in warm spots but Jelly Bean has found a marvelous toy. He’s gentle with his find—he wants it to last all day. As soon as the insect gets almost all the way up the pane, JB gently knocks it back down to the windowsill and the process begins all over again.
