Daily Photo Reprise: How Do You Like Them Apples? 2011

tortoiseshell cat with apples
How do you like them apples?!

One of my favorites photos of Cookie!

Not sure if Cookie was espousing the apple-a-day ideal, but she sure seemed to be enjoying sitting in the sun.

Or perhaps she was worried about the apples. Cookie did things like that, sat near things that needed to be fixed or moved or where something was somehow amiss. A few weeks before this photo the sun didn’t come in the window at this angle so the apples were safely out of the sun—and kitties weren’t necessarily inspired to sit there in the shade. When the sun moved so did the kitties, but I’ll have to move the apples myself. Kitties don’t do that kind of work.

I liked this photo so much I made it the back cover image for my calendar celebrating Cookie’s activities in the kitchen, In the Kitchen with Cookie.

Settling in for the big afternoon nap. Giuseppe is in the basket that is in the box, and Mewsette and Basil think he needs to learn to share. Bella will get her yellow basket.

So there was rain, and then the evening sun. Mimi was not concerned, she has not been outside in almost a week.

Yesterday

Not much I like better than Mimi on my lap, tiny 7 pounds tucked centered purring, stroking her soft fur and perfect shape, holding me in place with just her love.

Today’s studio window. Hamlet loves this window. I can pet him at will in here, especially when he’s on the windowsill. There has always been magic for me and my rescues in my studio.

Mimi is carefully guarding the certificate for a custom portrait I’m donating to the Homeless Cat Management Team spaghetti dinner today. Hope to see you there!

“Wow, look at all those juicy pencils! Which one do I bite first?” says Hamlet. He’s quite the studio supervisor cat these days, and a good thing since everyone else was sleeping on this dark and rainy day.
