Daily Photo Reprise: Crochet Testers Working Hard, 2011

Professional Crochet Testers

Good thing I finished this top at just the right moment! My crochet testers were ready to get to work.

Mr. Sunshine isn’t a typical tester, but I think his mom is trying to soften his man-cat edge a little. Cookie is always ready to participate in anything I do, and at one point I was crocheting around her. Apparently it passed their rigorous testing because they slept on it for several hours.

Of course, Kelly, my lead crochet tester, gave it a test when I began the project. If it had not passed her test at that point I certainly would not have continued.

What is it about cats and crocheted things?! And people who crochet and cats?! We must be a natural combination.

  • Bernadette – I am a bit worn out from the daily taxes of life and have been craving a new afghan project in my life. We have a new chair in the living room (was supposed to be for human use, but the cats did not get that memo). Anyhow, this chair is begging for an accessory and I am thinking of something in leopard colored tones with a lot of chunky, textured styles of yarn!! I don’t have the time for it at all, yet it seems to be calling me in a big way and I know I will succumb to it soon. I also firmly believe it is the way my mind tells me to slow down and enjoy life, as I know once I get the yarn out, I will have a feast of feline company about me to keep me happy and at peace!

    • Deb, you certainly deserve a rest and an afghan project after Cat Ruler of the World! I’m so glad to share that solace of the yarn with someone, and the juicy idea of a new afghan to create. Even with all the art I do, seeing a finished crochet project in place is just as exciting a creative endeavor. I didn’t have the time either and really missed crochet over the summer, so I’ve begun making a few artsy shawls I’ve had in mind. I feel better already. It is indeed the way we slow down and relax. And I know just the style and the yarns you’re talking about, and I’m looking forward to seeing your felines test it for quality.
