Daily Photo: Easy Sunday With Giuseppe As Pillow

Mewsette and Bean use Giuseppe as a pillow.

Mewsette and Bean use their brother as a pillow for a long afternoon nap after a very tiring weekend, for me at least. Kitty bellies do make good pillows, I’ll agree with that. If it’s your purring sibling it must be like heaven.

What other photos did I feature around this date?

All Ears On Desk, 2012

All ears on desk.

Black cats were piled on my desk all day today. Perhaps they were receiving their magic messages from their friends on the internet the same as me.

It’s Mewsette, Jelly Bean and Mimi, and I only know because I wrote it down.

My Neighbor’s Orange Cat, 2011

My Neighbor’s Orange Cat

We know now this is Amber Buttercup, but here is her debut.

My neighbor’s orange cat suns herself now and then in this side window of her home, but I get the idea she’s behind that blind a little more often than she is on the windowsill, judging by her modifications to the blind.

She is an orange girl (or ginger as some nations refer to this color, I kind of like that), though statistically most orange or orange and white cats are male; that’s actually because a percentage of those orange girls turn out to be calico or tortie girls. She even nicely matches the bricks! I have one photo of her that includes the entire window, which has a nice stained glass insert at the top, and orange bricks all around…yes, it sounds like another painting…

Nice to see a good collar and nice clear tag on an indoor cat; I have blurred her tag so that her address and owner’s name can’t be seen, but I will tell you that her name is Amber Buttercup. What an absolutely lovely name—no one gives their cat a name like that without a lot of love behind it.

In any case, she wasn’t too happy with my invasion of her privacy and the ruination of her sunbath by my pointing a camera at her. I love her expressions and the very deliberate way she lets me know exactly what she’s thinking. She gave me one last chance to disappear. I didn’t. Enjoy the slideshow below.

What Are We Doing Up Here? 2010

What are we doing up here?

Us? Up here? What are we doing up here? Well…we thought we’d flip through your CDs and see if there is anything more interesting to listen to than your boring classical music. We’ll try not to knock them off the top of the entertainment center.

(What they’re thinking is, “We’re a couple of cats, what do you think we’re doing up here?”)

Giuseppe and Jelly Bean think they are pretty smart in discovering the top of the entertainment center. Honest, I thought I could have a small area in the house where I could store things my clever kitties couldn’t get into. I actually had the front edge blocked off so they couldn’t jump up, but someone decided to risk it and discovered the world of my hats and baskets and CDs and other stuff I’d tossed up there. What was I thinking?
