Daily Photo: Double Hamlet Sweetness
Hamlet is reflected in the mirror on the bathroom door. It’s a favorite photo spot for me to catch a kitty, but Hamlet has just discovered it after five years in this house. He has always been very strict about where he slept and when he slept there, but he’s been loosening up in the past few months and I’ve found him sleeping or just hanging out in all new places. In addition, he would often run off if I looked at him too long, like when I take a photo, or if I walked too close to him or stepped over him or any one of the many encounters we have each day in this tiny house. He would be okay, just watching me and deciding everything would be fine and he’d stay until I just got close to him, then off he’d go. I always felt so bad. Sometimes I can’t avoid it, but here he was on top of the cabinet in the bathroom, looking at me, and holding his place when I took several photos. Look at his relaxed posture: round eyes with normal pupils, upright ears, even the head tilt to better see me around the door, and the paws tucked under his chest. I’m very proud of Hamlet.
All of these photos were first shared on Instagram. The photo of Mimi, below, is from Sunday when I was photographing my new bags and purses. I really didn’t want her in that part of the back yard because it’s a very popular deer area, but the morning was warm and breezy and I just couldn’t go out there and photograph my bags without her.
Mimi got a chance to scratch on her favorite fallen branch in the back yard and I got to do a little yard work, both happy!
One of the other things we found out there was that the crocuses, the ones that had been nearly frozen by a storm two weeks ago, bloomed and looked perfect!
A Four Feline Welcoming Committee greets Denise with purrs and headbutts and receives handfuls of pets. This is the treatment everyone gets, unless it’s naptime.
Denise stopped in to visit a few days ago when I borrowed her car. Please send purrs her way, she has to have one of her cats put to sleep and I’ve been helping her give some palliative care and make decisions, and find a house call vet because he gets very upset in a carrier and in the car, and she doesn’t want his last minutes to be like that.
And below, some great memories, my niece’s first photos of Simon and Theo settled into her house in Savannah in 2016, along with photos of her other two cats, after I’d taken them down there, and Bert and Ernie, formerly feral fosters from early in 2015, plus fun times here with bags and a sunny window.

Weather Report Kitty, 2019
Mimi’s weather report: Sunny enough to cast a really cool shadow on some warm concrete before falling down to roll all over it.
Today was entirely different! Good snow in the morning and then actually warming up and raining by evening to create total slush and fog. I love snow, and if it’s winter and cold it should be snowing.

Over the Weekend, 2017
Mimi in mirror in mirror, and in shadow. It’s amazing what a sunny morning can create. Mimi wandered around on the windowsill causing me to chase her silhouette around the room with my camera. She was finally merciful to me and sat down in the absolute purrfect spot to have her silhouette centered on the door, and her reflection in the mirror on the door above, AND her reflection in the mirror on the door also reflected on the mirror in corner by the window. The mirror on the door is very old and missing silver on the back, which makes interesting patterns and flecks in the reflection.
The weather changed over the weekend and suddenly everyone was up and about, and there is more light in the house! This post has all the photos I shared on social media, well, from Valentine’s Day to the following Sunday. I tried to at least post a photo each day, but more photos came along! This is a little way to catch up. The photo above of Mimi and Mimi and Mimi is from Sunday. The list below starts a little before Valentine’s Day and moves forward, starting with “Mimi is on the phone”. Captions are below each photo.

Friendship Friday.
How on earth do you tell them apart?
Lots of practice! And I’m an artist and look for details. Thanks for visiting, and I’ve been enjoying your articles too.
Purrayers to your friend and her sick kitty. And to you and all your cats as well.
Thank you so much. I’m sorry she had to lose him a few days later, but at least she could keep him from suffering further.
So precious. I love black kitties and my last one was the best kitty ever. I miss her so. You’re surrounded by such cuteness.
Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous day. Scritches to the kitties. ♥
They are incredibly sweet! Thanks for visiting, I’ll scritch the kitties for you and try to hop again some time.
