Cookie in the Pasta Bowl
Should I dress her with the mellowed fresh tomatoes and balsamic vinaigrette?
Only if I want to clean them off the walls.
I set the warm bowl on the counter while I ran outside to get a couple branches of basil to finish off my dinner, maybe ten seconds, and when I returned Cookie was just settling into the bowl as if she’d been in it all day. I tossed the basil in with her and grabbed my camera for a straight-on shot (below) then stepped up on the cats’ food tin for the above shot.
Amazing how cats can fit themselves comfortably into just about anything.
Here’s another view. I couldn’t decide which view I liked best—I love the above view because of the composition, but I also like to see the expression on Cookie’s face.

What a wonderful centerpiece she makes! I love the picture from above with the green swirl of the bowl matching Cookie’s shape and the accent of the basil. Oh my, this is wonderful! I just wish I could catch my kitties in some of their great positions. I’m always a second too late with the camera……as soon as they see it, they don’t feel like being cute anymore. Great photos, Bernadette!
This was the first in the series. I miss my share, or mess up my share, but Cookie is non-stop in the kitchen. But what else would I warm a nice big round bowl for?

Cookie may be 18, but she’s still a heck of model! All I do is add the basil. Have a great trip (saw your FB post)!
i LOVE IT! LOLOLOL! i love the addition of the condiments! wonderful picture!
Marg, what got me first was her expression–very Cookie! She didn’t budge when I added the basil. But I do love the shot from above. I may filter the color a little differently because that swag lamp has a long-life bulb in it and they are more yellow than incandescents are. We’ll see. That shot may be one to offer as a print!
I like both photos because like you said, they both have very positive things about them. The one from the top is great because it looks like she really doesn’t mind the decoration. But both shots are wonderful
Chris, they just keep doing these cool things! And most of these photos are really from that day or the previous day–I shot this photo of Cookie, then went right to my computer and uploaded. That’s why I decided to go ahead and start a daily cat photo. When I run low I have archives like you wouldn’t believe…
What a great photo – how DO you get all these wonderful shots of your kitties?
