Cats for Adoption: Sigh, Nibs is Still Waiting
Not really sure why this purrfect companion kitty is still waiting for someone to notice her. She does all the things people love for kitties to do: hang out with you when you’re relaxing, play a little, amuse herself all day long without getting into trouble while you’re off at work, eat whatever you feed her. She even lives happily in her foster home with three other cats, and with three dogs and they don’t bother her at all. Nibs would just love her own home to do all her favorite things, and do them with you. And because she’s been waiting over a year her adoption fee is reduced to $50.00.
Here’s what her foster person has to say:
Say hello to Nibs! She is about four years old and has been waiting for her forever home longer than anyone else in our care. Nibs is an independent lady. She is perfectly happy spending most of her day to herself, watching birds at a window perch or napping in a cozy bed. Nibs is low maintenance and easy to care for. If you’re looking for a good companion cat who won’t mind that you’re off at work all day (and having a social life in the evening!), then Nibs would be a good fit for you!
When you’re around, Nibs really enjoys attention and pets. She will approach for head and neck scratches when she is craving some attention. She will even visit on the couch or bed. She lives with three other cats in her foster home. She is happy living with cats who respect her personal space, and she has started to play and interact with her cat-siblings. Nibs also lives with three big dogs that don’t seem to bother her at all.
Nibs can be skittish at times. Sudden movements will startle her, so homes with young children would not be a good fit for her. P.S. All told, Nibs has been waiting for her forever home for a year, and she’d really love a new home for the new year! To help her find her loving forever home, her adoption fee has been reduced to $50! Remember she’s spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, and up-to-date on all of her vaccinations!

All Pittsburgh C.A.T. adoptions begin with our application. After it’s reviewed you’ll be contacted about meeting your cat or kitten. All cats have been fostered in homes and are healthy, spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines.

Can’t adopt? Foster! Can’t foster? Donate or volunteer.
There are so many ways you can help cats who need homes and care. You may not have room to adopt another cat, but can foster a cat or kitten for a few weeks. If not that, you can volunteer at a shelter or with a rescue, or donate. You do this because you love your cat, and by doing so you help all cats. No matter which of these actions you take, you help to save a life, and make life better for all cats.
- Adopt one of the cats I’ve posted here, or from any shelter or rescue near you, or from Petfinder, to open up a space for another cat to be rescued and fostered.
- Offer to foster cats or kittens for a shelter or rescue near you.
- Volunteer at a shelter or rescue.
- Find a group of volunteers who work with homeless cats and help them with their efforts.
- Donate to a shelter or rescue near you.
If you can foster kittens or adults cats to help prepare them for a forever home, please run to your nearest shelter and find a cat who needs you! Anyone can help with this effort at any level, even if all you do is donate to a shelter or rescue so they can help to pay for the food or medications needed for their foster, or the spay/neuter/veterinary care during a clinic.

Great Rescues Day Book:
Portraits, Rescue Stories, Holidays and Events, Essential Feline Information, All in One Book
Each month features one of my commissioned portraits of a feline or felines and their rescue story along with a kitty quote on the left page, and on the right page the month name with enough lines for all possible dates, with standard holidays and animal-themed observances and events.
