Cats for Adoption: Sweet Caroline
Yes, I put that earworm in the heads of anyone out there of a certain age…because I don’t want you to forget Caroline when it comes to adopting a feline companion!
Her foster person says:
Sweet Caroline! She came to us in the spring, and spring became summer… and Caroline is still waiting for her forever home to come along. :\ Caroline is initially shy and skittish (we suspect abuse in her past) but once she trusts you, she’s an affectionate, loving girl who loves to be petted and will cuddle with you while you sleep. She’s also very playful, and loves to play fetch! She’ll run and jump to catch her little mousie, and keep bringing it back for you to throw. She’s still young, only about two, and she has lots of young-cat energy.
Caroline needs a patient, loving adopter who will give her the time she needs to adjust to her new home. Caroline is intimidated by other cats, but she obviously wants to be friends, so she’d probably be happiest in a home without other cats, or with only one or two other easy-going kitties who will let her relax into her new home.

Caroline is very playful and a lot of fun! She plays for hours by herself with her little toys, and enjoys interactive play with her foster mom. She would make a great companion kitty for someone who works all day and wants to come home to a loving kitty who will appreciate the attention she gets.
Caroline is still young, and deserves a forever home where she can feel comfortable, settled, and loved. She needs a quiet home with a patient adopter who will work to build her trust. Caroline is wary of other animals, but, if introduced with patience, could probably share a home with another well-behaved cat who would respect her timidity and give her the space she needs to adjust.

All cats are:
- spayed or neutered
- up to date on all age-appropriate vaccine
- test negative for FIV/FeLV unless otherwise noted
They may be shy at first but are completely socialized to living with humans, and the person who fostered them will be able to tell you all about them.

Amazon Wish Lists
Many rescuers pay out of pocket for veterinary care and food but the costs of raising even the average litter of four healthy kittens is more than many people have, and many rescues have greater needs. Pittsburgh CAT has a number of wish lists that include foods for feeding neo-natal kittens like KMR, and other lists that include the best kitten foods, adult cat foods, food and materials for feral cats, and preferred toys and litter.

Can’t adopt? Foster! Can’t foster? Donate or volunteer.
There are so many ways you can help cats who need homes and care. You may not have room to adopt another cat, but can foster a cat or kitten for a few weeks. If not that, you can volunteer at a shelter or with a rescue, or donate. You do this because you love your cat, and by doing so you help all cats. No matter which of these actions you take, you help to save a life, and make life better for all cats.
- Adopt one of the cats I’ve posted here, or from any shelter or rescue near you, or from Petfinder, to open up a space for another cat to be rescued and fostered.
- Offer to foster cats or kittens for a shelter or rescue near you.
- Volunteer at a shelter or rescue.
- Find a group of volunteers who work with homeless cats and help them with their efforts.
- Donate to a shelter or rescue near you.
If you can foster kittens or adults cats to help prepare them for a forever home, please run to your nearest shelter and find a cat who needs you! Anyone can help with this effort at any level, even if all you do is donate to a shelter or rescue so they can help to pay for the food or medications needed for their foster, or the spay/neuter/veterinary care during a clinic.
