The Stinkbug!

four black cats playing
The stinkbug.

In honor of Giuseppe’s encounter with a stinkbug this morning I thought I’d dig out the photos of the Fantastic Four when they were the Amazing Adolescents, at 18 months old exploring their domain. They encountered a stinkbug innocently walking on the landing and it became the most important thing in their world for at least 15 minutes. I made a slideshow out of the 11 photos I took of their encounter, added music, and converted it to a movie! I’m so glad I’ve finally got things set up to be able to do this.

The music is “Moderato allegro ma non troppo moderato”, the theme “The Cat” from “Peter and the Wolf” composed by Sergei Prokofiev, Leopold Stokowski conducting the All American Orchestra. You may recognize it when you hear it even if you don’t know the piece of music, but from Saturday morning cartoons.

I can’t embed videos on this site yet, so click here to view it on YouTube!

Love your video, especially the angle you took the pictures from. The 4 are so cute together!

  • Perfect mix of music and pictures :). We don’t have stinkbugs as far as I know, but most insects have the same effect on Austin!

    • Carolyn, stinkbugs are so much fun because they are so slow and ornery, kind of the tortoises of the insect world!

    • I’m hooked on these now that I’ve figured out the software! Of course, I could just get a little video camera…
