Daily Photo Reprise: Share the Love, 2010

Hey, Giuseppe wants to be sick too, if he gets as much attention as Peaches does, and all that great food! Did you ever feel that way when you were a kid? My brother was accident prone and I really got tired of everyone doting on him—I never even had

Peaches and Giuseppe, Sittin’ in a Tree…2010

Well, they’re on the table and they are only “holding paws”, but I know they’re awfully fond of each other—who remembers that grade school taunt? Most of my current readers are accustomed to seeing Giuseppe cuddling with black cats, one of his relatives, but for some reason, from the time

Remembering Peaches: One Year Later

One year ago today Peaches transitioned to the next stage of her existence. I don’t really need an anniversary to remember Peaches —I think about her all the time and remember all the sweet things I associate with her: those lovely dilute calico spots like a map of big continents,

Knowing When, and Saying Goodbye

Today is one week that I said goodbye to Peaches, at about 11:50 a.m., so I am posting this final article in the series chronicling her battle with renal failure and about caring for a chronically ill pet. This article is rather long because it was intended to be three

A Sweet Award

I was honored and excited to see that “Peaches and Peonies” had won a Certificate of Excellence in the illustration category for my line of feline art cards in the Cat Writer’s Association Annual Communication Contest. I also won another Certificate in the contest, for my poem “Pawprints and Raindrops”

Sweet Peaches

Please send Peaches lots of love and energy as she transitions this morning. The process began last night, and we are now waiting for our veterinarian; this afternoon we’ll be meeting with our friend Deb at Chartiers Custom Pet Cremation. I am so glad these wonderful supportive people are here
