Ready for Customers

Giuseppe and Sunshine are ready for your order!
Giuseppe and Sunshine are ready for your order!

After another intense week of focusing on refinements my new Portraits of Animals website is ready for visitors. I still have a few sections to finish up with adding merchandise and a few refinements once I have enough customers registered to finalize coupons and rewards, but Giuseppe and Mr. Sunshine are ready to take your orders right now. All that loafing in baskets has them well rested.

While they’ve been sleeping, I’ve been creating galleries on my website. For the first time you can see galleries of my portraits and daily sketches. Until now I had no place for customers to view my portraits just as a gallery of images, which was how I wanted to display them just for people to see samples. This was one of the important features I wanted to have that I couldn’t have on the e-commerce site I’d begun building, and I’m so happy I have it now. I like to look at it too!

You can also see my daily sketches in a similar gallery. I don’t have them all up yet because I’m actually having fun reviewing them. I also want to make them clickable so you can see more information about them and don’t want to get too far behind with posting them all  now. This makes is so much easier to browse items, and also to consider custom prints or custom products.

And this site not only includes my feline and animal artwork, it also includes my artwork inspired by nature in a way I’ve not been able to display my art, prints, greeting cards and merchandise before now.

And also my landscape paintings, waterscapes and other galleries created from my annual exhibits.

Customer benefits and discounts

New member free gift

When you register for a new account, I’ll send you a coupon and a link to choose one from six matted prints I have on display including art and photography from different galleries. You don’t need to purchase anything to get your thank you gift, you can just register an account and get your free print. The thank you gifts always include matted digital prints of art and photos that I usually sell for between $20.00 and $40.00.

Customer rewards

If you’ve registered for an account the site will total your purchases and send you a coupon for $10.00 once you’ve spent $100.00.

Donate for a Discount

Just as I’ve done here on The Creative Cat I’ll give you a discount based on how much you donate to the programs I have listed: $5.00 for every $25.00 you donate. Right now it includes donations to Homeless Cat and Pittsburgh CAT, but I’ll be including a few others as well.

Types of accounts

Customer account

You can sign up for a regular customer account and get the benefits above. If you are an animal professional or a wholesale buyer, you can sign up for two other types of accounts.

Animal Professionals

I offer animal professionals 40% off just about everything on this website and 5″ x 7″ cards of all sorts for $1.50 each with inexpensive imprinting as well, and not limited to pet-themed items. I’ve also designed a monthly sampler box focused on animal professionals and your clients too. I’ll ask for information on your business and assign you to the category.

Wholesale buyers

I am more than happy to provide retailers with an assortment of merchandise at 40% off with no minimum quantities on individual items—you can get one keepsake box, or three of one card and two of another, for instance. I’ve also designed a monthly sampler box to provide retail customers with a real sample of the things I make so it’s easier to make decisions on things you’d like to purchase. I’ll ask for information on your business and assign you to the category.

About that Sampler Box

What's in the sampler box
What’s in the sampler box

I’m getting my April sampler boxes ready right now! Each box will receive the following items in a design appropriate to the audience:

• an 8” x 10” print matted to 11” x 14”, ready to frame OR a small framed print, either an existing piece of artwork or a new one

• two or more greeting or note cards, current designs and new designs

• a handmade or other gift item—a small keepsake box or a little art sampler book, a polymer clay or ceramic item, screen-printed dishtowel, tote bag, crocheted item or rubber stamp, new art paper, for instance

These can be things your use for yourself or give as gifts or donation items to shelter or rescue or other fundraisers. Sometimes they’ll be little experiments and I’ll be asking for feedback. I’ll be happy that you get to see art you may have never noticed, and little handmade goods that work so much better in your hands than a photo on your computer.

Sampler boxes can be purchased singly or in subscriptions of three and six boxes. Shipping within the US is included.

$30.00 for one box, value about $47.50

$75.00 for a three box subscription, value about $142.50

You can read more about the content in the gift boxes on the page on Portraits of Animals, and don’t forget to go and visit the rest of the site too! I’ll be adding things every day, and also my links from Marketplace articles on this site will now go to Portraits of Animals. I’ll keep a few things on my Etsy site, but nearly all of it in time will be moved to Portraits of Animals.

And my Creative Cat Preview E-newsletter will now apply to Portraits of Animals instead of Etsy! You can also sign up for my quarterly Art and Merchandise Enewsletter with similar discounts. You can find the e-newletters signups here.

    • Thanks, Tabbies! The feline family here will tell you that I have been just plain dull, but I tell them they like to eat and be quiet about it.

  • The three lined up asleep in their baskets is beyond adorable. Do the same cats always sleep in the same baskets? XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

    • Kitties Blue, they are so much fun with this basket habit! They even sleep there when I’m not in the room now. They switch around a little and take whatever basket is open for business.

What an amazing collection of art work in so many forms! Combined with all of the information and helpful articles, and the excellent feline information, you offer a “one-stop-shop” for people looking for all aspects of enjoying cats and nature. I will be poring over this for hours.

    Thanks, Bernadette!

  • My, you have been busy!
Makes me feel a bit lazy, but then I have been lazy about organizing computer stuff 😉
Will be checking out your site and pictures.

    • Nancy, it’s one of the necessary evils of running a business on your own. My cats keep themselves organized into baskets, but don’t have anything to do with my art.
