One Happy Black Kitty
This morning was not so bright, but yesterday’s sun inspired a lot of feline bliss. Here, Giuseppe pauses in his breakdancing to warm his belly in the sun.
I love how most black cats’ fur takes on a variety of mahogany tones in pure sunlight. Among these five, each has a different shade of mahogany, and it even varies across their body. Giuseppe is the cooler brown, like his mom.
I wish I had as much sunlight as you do streaming into your house. My kitties would love it too! I would be down on the floor with Giuseppe if I had a spot of sunlight like that to bask in. He’s such a beautiful color and it is amazing how much it changes in certain light.
Susan, that’s why we treasure this long streak of winter sun, and why everyone is enjoying it! This is about as much as I have coming in aside from bits and pieces in the bathroom and landing upstairs for an hour or so. It’s been one of the disappointments of this house as the trees grew, so we lost our sunlight, in the house and out in the garden. In summer, almost nothing, but we are cool cats.
almost like mink 🙂
Really–don’t you want to rub his belly?
