He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother and Why I Had To Stand in My Studio Today

three black cats on chair

Three black cats on my chair..."my chair"?

First, I got up from my chair for just a second to lean under my drafting table and retrieve the blank labels for printing. When I stood up, above is what I saw. Three cats on my chair, acting as if they’d been there all along, Mr. Sunshine stretched out so Mewsette could bathe him, and Giuseppe sitting in the only available corner left on the chair. Jelly Bean would have been there as well but he really could not fit. Apparently, I was just keeping it warm for them until I stood up.

Later, they made certain I had to continue standing by marking the spot with an “X” of cats, Mr. Sunshine using Giuseppe as a floor pillow. Certainly I would not move them when they were obviously so comfortable.

I’m sure their goal was to keep me on my feet so I didn’t get too comfortable and make them eat really late.

Perhaps they’d like to make sure they eat at all by letting me work?

Absolutely adorable, and so typical — that’s what I love about cats!

  2. This is what happens when sitting in front of the monitor isn’t enough to halt work…. Isn’t that what used to be called a “sit in” (or sleep in…)?
