From the Archives: Sure, Happy Mother’s Day

Poor Mimi
Poor Mimi

Poor Mimi doesn’t even get a chance to have a meal on her own without kittens needing to nurse; the photo above is from August 1, 2007 and the beans were six days old. That’s how it was for most of her first four years. Mimi was an excellent cat mom, even if she was tiny and it was hard to believe there was enough of her to go around. All her kittens were beautiful and healthy, playful and social. But she’s pretty happy she’s spayed, and these little beans were the end of the line. She is forever a mom and loves her four kids, and even tries to give me mom cat guidance now and then with little chirps and trills when I seem confused about what she wants.

But sometimes…

Happy Mother’s Day to all who nurture!

From the Archives

Photos pulled “From the Archives” were taken by one or another digital camera of mine between 2002 and, well, yesterday, but usually they are older than that, and I had never had the chance to feature them. Vintage Photos are from my film archives back to 1983 when I purchased my Pentax K-1000 camera. They’re a fun way to “introduce” other members of my feline family who came and went before I began blogging, and to illustrate my feline family in general from days gone by.

Mimi tells us to “Remember to Dream”.

Mimi reminds you that dreams do come true, so it’s advisable to remember to dream every day, no matter the circumstances, so the universe will know what dreams you want, and when they do come true, you’ll know what to do. You can find this photo in my gallery of Feline Photos.
