From the Archives: Peaches and Kelly, 2008
In honor of Peaches’ rescue story today, here’s a photo of her with her buddy Kelly on my bed from May 5, 2008. Kelly was always a little vigilant, even with me, but Peaches never had a care in the world, she just assumed everything was okay and every person and cat was good., it was really that simple. That’s the best thing about a senior kitty—for the most part, all the drama is done and they just expect to be loved.
Don’t they make you want to adopt a senior kitty or two?
It’s sweet to see the two of them together—today they’d be my daily sketch, but this photo was also in my “future paintings” folder. While I like it very much as a photo, I’ve been wanting to explore the two of them in watercolors, brighten up the colors a little and open up the shadows for more detail. Someday soon…
