Little Lucy With Flowers
Little Lucy With Flowers

Just five months old and already a star feline model, happily participating in my little tableau and finding her own poses…just like her mother does nearly every day.

I found these photos of Lucy from September 24, 2006. Despite the abundance of light they are all a little blurry—the Olympus digital I had then was good when it was good, but it was unpredictable, and none on film that I could find—but they are memories nonetheless.

A purrfect silhouette.
A purrfect silhouette.

Do you want me to pose like this? Is this good? At that time I always had flowers in a vase in the middle of the round white table. These are many-flowered asters, a common autumn wildflower, from the back yard.

Here I am!
Here I am!

She probably got up on the table to be closer to what I was doing, cooking lunch perhaps, climbing up from a chair.

Lucy joins me.
Lucy joins me.

And then takes her place. No doubt I walked all around the table looking for the best shots and she patiently found her own poses, just Lucy and me in the bright autumn kitchen.

Sitting pretty.
Sitting pretty.

In the photos below, Lucy really hit her stride as  model, interacting with the flowers in such typical ways. I love the look of the bright window with Lucy’s silhouette.

Even if they are blurry they are still wonderful memories. And perhaps someday I’ll paint one or two of them.

Photos pulled “From the Archives” were taken by one or another digital camera of mine between 2002 and, well, yesterday, but usually they are older than that, and I had never had the chance to feature them. Vintage Photos are from my film archives back to 1983 when I purchased my Pentax K-1000 camera. They’re a fun way to “introduce” other members of my feline family who came and went before I began blogging, and to illustrate my feline family in general from days gone by.

“Boo!” featuring Lucy.

“Boo!” features Lucy from a few years ago. Sadly, I lost Lucy to FIP when she was 15 months old so she never had the chance to develop her career as all my other cats have, so I love to use her image in a creative endeavor whenever possible. Read more and purchase.
