two black kittens
Bean and Giuseppe on August 21, 2007.

On this date seven years ago…Jelly Bean and Giuseppe were cuddled on the bath rug for a little nap at nearly four weeks old.

And here they are today…cuddled for a nap on the wardrobe.

. . . . . . .

And in other activities seven years ago…Mewsette met the lion on my skirt and challenged him to a wrestling match!

Mimi is already tired of me and the camera–this is the only photo I got of her looking up at me while she nursed, though she did that frequently. But I was just learning the challenges of photographing black cats, and just how blurry a picture could be.

Do you mind?
Do you mind?

Mimi managed to escape, but Giuseppe and Mewsette are having none of it.

Where did she go?

All four put their heads together and try to figure out where their mom went, and Mewsette is ready to run and get her.

Let us out!

And here is where she was, just out of their reach. She’s listening, but she’s taking a break.

Suddenly, it was nap time!

You can see a color on some of their ears—this is tempera paint I dabbed on them to tell them apart because, aside from Bean with white in his ears, on his neck and belly, they all looked the same. Giuseppe had green, Mewsette red and Sunshine yellow; the colors were chosen randomly, read more about there here.
