FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PITTSBURGH, PA – A dog that was missing for three years will be reunited with his owner Sunday, August 13, 2017 at 12 PM (noon) at Humane Animal Rescue’s East End shelter located at 6926 Hamilton Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA. Humane Animal Rescue was able to find the dog’s owner, who currently lives in Cleveland, thanks to the dog having a microchip.

Microchips are an integral part of Humane Animal Rescue’s mission and every adoptable animal at Humane Animal Rescue has been microchipped. An ID tag affixed to the animal’s collar coupled with a permanent form of identification such as a microchip will provide maximum protection for your dog or cat should he become lost.

About Humane Animal Rescue (HAR)

The Animal Rescue League Shelter & Wildlife Center and Western PA Humane Society, two organizations each with a long history of helping animals throughout the community have merged to form Humane Animal Rescue.

Humane Animal Rescue was created by selecting the words that tell the stories of our former namesakes, while also describing who we are and what we do. “Humane” describes our continued Open Door policy and our desire to restore all animals to full health. “Animal Rescue” details our goal of helping animals in need, both domestic and wild. The Humane Animal Rescue logo reflects the animals we serve: one tail representing wildlife and the other tail representing domestic animals. Humane is what we believe in. Animal Rescue is what we do.

Humane Animal Rescue will now operate out of three different locations: 1101 Western Avenue, located in the Northside; 6926 Hamilton Avenue, located in the East End; and the Wildlife Center, located in Verona.
