A cat in a box is no surprise, but a box that turned out to be heavier than you thought that you open to find Mewsette happily napping in is a surprise, a very pleasant one. So, of course, I had to sketch her, because the moment I opened the flaps and saw her—and she merely flicked an ear when I did but did not acknowledge me—I pictured a simple Mewsette shape in blue in a brown cardboard box. So here you have it.
You can see my ink was not dry in some spots and fizzled; I’ll have to be more careful with that. And I had intended to work a bit of background into it so I overlapped outside the lines, then decided not to, but I like it loose like this.
And thinking of famous cats in boxes:
Yoo hoo, Maru,
Does anybody sketch you?
Inquiring minds want to know.
