Daily Sketch Reprise: Two Cats Playing
Giuseppe and Mr. Sunshine playing with a ball in the tub, trying to keep minimal and catch only their actions, using the brush pen. Fun, just as much as their fun!
Just the way the ink worked out, they still look like Siamese cats to me!

2011: This Is Your Chair?
“This is your chair? I didn’t know. It was nice and warm when you left it so I sat on it. Now it’s my chair.”
Someone always takes my chair whenever I stand up, and this time it was Mewsette in my studio where I’d been sitting at my drafting table. I could not move her, not could I share it with her since she is to big to paint around.
I was using a gel pen, so that was what I used to draw this sketch.

Looking Out the Door, 2011
Jelly Bean enjoys the view out the door. I have always liked the graceful way a cat can seem like a swirling, curling juggernaut just by sitting up, all curves and roundness, even slender and angular cats as the neck curves and the tail wraps.

What other sketches did I post on or around this date?

What Are You Doing Up There?
I am working. They are not permitted on my table, therefore, they absolutely need to be up here with me. As a result, they are literally getting underfoot. I am hoping they will lose interest and go have a nap since I have glue, paint or finish on several items on the table upon which they are not permitted. It would be an absolute disaster if one of them jumped up here. So I keep Giuseppe and Mr. Sunshine mesmerized by keeping eye contact while I do a sketch, long enough for things to set so that I can lure them out of the room.
I am glad to report they both stayed on the floor.
But don’t worry, I did have adequate eye-level supervision. Mimi was in a box in the back of everything and promised to stay put.
Working with cats always has an exciting element of risk and danger.
