Daily Sketch Reprise: Napping With Colors in Mind, 2014

Giuseppe must surely be absorbing some of the colors of the pens in my pen cup. I certainly thought the colors were inspiring next to Giuseppe’s black fur! Because he was sleeping I had the time to get more detail on his face than usual.

. . . . . . .

What else was I sketching on this date?

Today I’m still exploring all those interesting foreshortened Giuseppe angles since I had such difficulty yesterday although it came out okay. You can see he waited until I began to sketch to resettle himself with the series of lines above his back…this is how it is sometimes, but always worth it for the outcome.

  • I love your sketches, partly due to your talent, but also because we have two black cats…or they have us. They often reflect Chloe Jo or Grizelda. Do you do sketches from photos?
