Daily Sketch Reprise: Boyz at Play, 2012

ink sketch of cats playing
Boyz at Play, burgundy and green gel pens © B.E. Kazmarski

This is drawn in gel pen Mr. Sunshine in burgundy and guess who in green. If you guessed Giuseppe Verdi, you are correct.

Mr. Sunshine happened to see the tie to the apron I wear in my studio peeking out from under the door where it hangs on the doorknob. As we always say about fancy toys and cats, the floor is littered with toys and they play with something of mine. Sunshine was totally overwrought about this canvas tie, doing backflips and falling down to roll around with it. Then it was so good he had to run away and talk about it, coming right back to start all over again.

Giuseppe, trying to understand Sunshine’s excitement came over to help him play with it, but didn’t stand a chance.

  • Oh that is so true. Our silly Two Two thinks a ;piece of chicken is a toy. She will throw it around for hours. Then she will take one of her toys and drag it all through the house just talking away. Love the sketch.
