Daily Sketch Reprise: Blue-Brown Cats

Mewsette gave Jelly Bean a very slow and thorough bath, just right for a sketch for me because they weren’t moving too much.

The blue is really more of a teal and I like that color—it’s in the cup of old pastel pencils I have at my desk so it’s always easy to grab. It wasn’t strong enough to carry the shapes, though, and once I got the teal sketch done it looked a little muddled. I chose the chocolaty sepia to add just an outline for definition, the warm color a nice complement to the cooler teal.

My goodness, I’d almost forgotten about this one—still one of my favorites!

Giuseppe and Jelly Bean were sharing the same spot of sun on the landing today, contentedly tucked side to side, facing opposite directions. Jelly Bean looks like just a pile of something. Giuseppe at least has ears. They were absolutely fast asleep.
