Daily Sketch Reprise: Being Used as a Fort

“I realized upon awakening…” technical drawing pen © B.E. Kazmarski

So this is a daily sketch of something that happened, but it was not done in real time as I visualized it, truly, upon awakening, when I really was being used as a fort. I’m not sure exactly which were who, but I know it was the boys and Bean was the one peering over my hip. Likely the one delivering the swat was Giuseppe, he’s like that.

I’ve always wanted to do these little cartoons that occur to me now and then, well, probably more often than now and then. There are a few ideas that are several years old, and I think I’ll start working them up.

I really, really like the technical pen I found, fun to sketch with, but I need to use a thicker pen for my hand-lettering, which is actually quite neat with a marker.

And I do love that little technical pen, using it frequently for ink sketches. I had resolved with this cartoon last year that I’d continue with my cartoon ideas on a regular basis. Well…I need to do a little better on that!

. . . . . . .

This cartoon won a Certificate of Excellence in the 2012 Cat Writers Association annual Communications Contest.
