Giuseppe was curled like a but on the floor—the furnace and main ductwork are right under him—and I was intriqued by the patterns, and using angled crosshatches instead of simply heavy coverage to create a sense of shape and dimension on Giuseppe. Because he was pretty much staying still, it was easy to capture quite a lot of the scene. Giuseppe likes to model
