Daily Sketch: Minding Their Own Business

sketch of two cats
Minding Their Own Business, charcoal © B.E. Kazmarski

Sometimes, this is all we see.

I like the times when they are going about their business without me involved. Jelly Bean is curled, sleeping, at the top of the steps where the sun had been shining, briefly awakened by Mewsette as she climbs the steps and rounds the corner into my bedroom. No faces, no interaction with me, they are just being house cats finding their afternoon nap spots.

  • There is something about the simplicity of the moment you captured that makes my heart smile.

    • Anita, I like to catch them in other activities, just being cats–and especially interacting, those special little moments.

  • The number of shots I’ve got of Austins back half!!! Yep they do their own thing. Love the sketch 🙂

    • That’s why I decided to draw this one! When they move or walk away and I don’t have the time to catch them I’ll usually wait for another inspiration, but this time I thought I’d catch them in the act.
