Daily Sketch: Mimi in Sunlight
Mimi settled her little self by the door to my studio where the sun streamed in the window and across the floor as well as on the door next to her. Lots of direct and reflected light, but just a simple composition. I wanted the pinkish tones of the wood floor and tan door and used a peach pastel pencil which oddly looks pale yellow, and used black pastello paper; not sure I like the texture this time, but overall I think it’s fine.
Little Mimi was up and about while her children were all sleeping on the bed. I think sometimes she enjoys the time to feel like an only cat.
