Daily Photo: Too Sexy for My Whiskers
Mr. Sunshine keeps perfectly still so I can check my camera settings prior to a photo shoot. He is the mancat around here.
I had planned on using the white backdrop to check my light settings, mixing cool and warm lights for some product photography. But a shiny black cat can be just as effective in seeing the reflectance of my chosen lights. (The indigo spots on his side are bouncing reflections inside the lens of my camera.)
Apparently, he wasn’t happy about his mom about to pull off one of her famous photobombs. Having your mom walk into your mancat photoshoot is just embarrassing. Plus, he had spent several minutes in a thorough bath, putting every hair in place and shining up his whiskers, then settling into a classic pose, carefully lining up his front paws and wrapping his tail over them, comfortable enough to hold for several minutes. I don’t know how many blurry closeups I have of Mimi walking past the lens of my camera.
Here is Mr. Sunshine preening for his modeling debut, and I could also check the angles of the shadows cast by all my lights.
No doubt about it, my cats work very hard, every single day. And just like me, they’ve turned what they enjoy doing into their life’s work.
