Daily Photo: Sending Me on a Guilt Trip, and Visiting Kitty Cousins
“That’s fine, just go and leave us here with no food and nothing to do. Have a great time. We’ll still be here when you get back. Like we have any choice.”
Giuseppe, Mewsette and Mimi line up on the bed for a grand send off as I left to visit a friend for an Easter meal today. Who are they kidding? They’re going to sleep all afternoon, and if I’d been here, they’d have slept all afternoon. I was only gone four hours. Kitties!
But I brought back word from their little foster sister, so that was egg-citing! Fromage was a little orphaned kitten who my friend rescued and gave to me for the bottle-feeding and weaning stage, but while I fed her and cleaned her and kissed her all over, it was the Fantastic Four who taught her how to be a cat. They were a perfect foster family for a little orphaned kitten, playing with her, giving her baths and teaching her to play with toys. She read all their messages on my purse, camera bag and dress, and left a bunch of messages for them in return, which have now been read and discussed by the household.
If I had thought to take my art materials, a photo would have been today’s daily sketch instead. Kitties know a lot about composition, and a little black kitten taught by my Photogenic Phour will naturally settle herself in a most striking pose, in a perfect cat curl on an antique Navajo pillow. Think I still might paint her. And just so you don’t think she is unsociable, only conscious of perfect composition, I also photographed her turning to look at me.
And I also saw Mr. Peach, who we fostered here for several months in the year before Mimi and the Fantastic Four were here—their half-sister Lucy knew Mr. Peach and loved to play with him.

Annie, I hope you had a beautiful Easter as well! Yes, I was about to rush down the stairs and they did that. What could I do? I’m glad I’ve given warm and fuzzy things to read–our spring is apparently still some distance away, but do enjoy yours!
