Daily Photo Reprise: Mimi in Green, 2012
Can’t a lady have some privacy in her toilette?
I love Mimi’s green eyes, usually more yellow but here reflecting the geranium leaves bright with sun. And the shape of her face, the little curves and scallops of her ears, cheeks, whisker pads, chin, all bring to mind the scalloped geranium leaves.
Just a gift of beauty on a sunny winter morning.
And because there is nearly always more than one photo, I’ve chosen two others from a dozen I took that morning that I also like from this little photo shoot…
I debated about cropping out the wall and window frame on the left, wanting only the wandering shapes of the leaves and Mimi, as if she is a leaf herself, but the composition somehow got lost without that geometric edge.
And then, possibly my favorite because I love photos of cats bathing, and this one catching Mimi in a moment of privacy.
If I ever do get this odd window replaced, I’ll miss all the weathered details I capture in all my photos here—and there are many, from all the years I’ve lived here.
