This is what the Curious Quartet have been doing while I record my poems. Giuseppe is watching the sound levels on the computer screen (just at the right edge of the photo) ready to swat any level that’s out of range, Mewsette and Jelly Bean quietly listen for errors, Jelly Bean with his eyes closed so he can truly focus on the sound and both giving me a sidelong glance and eye roll when I inevitably stumble, and Mr. Sunshine totally preoccupied with his pile of wooden clothes pins (trying to figure out how they work, he’s am old-fashioned hands-on kind of guy, not into electronics).
This is all to make sure I remember to smile while I read my poems, and not be so solemn and serious…
And on that note I decided to have a little fun with them and I used the Color Halftone filter in PhotoShop, set at a ratio of 8. If you play around with these filters in PS or any other program, remember that the result is different depending on the size of your file. For the internet I save these at 72 or 100 DPI and make the maximum width 100 pixels, and I wanted the dots to be coarse. I just like the way the four process colors mesh, but if you squint you can still see the four black cats.
Whatever magic they possess it certainly worked well for me. Read about and listen to my poems.
