Daily Photo: Patiently Waiting for Dinner
Silly thing to do, filming my cats, especially when I should have been simply preparing their dinner! Tonight’s photo/sketch/whatever is the poster-edges image above and a short video I took in the kitchen just now, embedded below. The photo above is much like yesterday’s daily photo so I had to make it a little different.
Their flawed human caretaker forgot to take their raw dinner out to thaw earlier today, and they had to wait until said flawed human scurried around and gently thawed it in cold water and a few passes in the microwave.
All in all, considering there are five young and healthy, and very hungry, felines watching me play around with their raw meat for dinner, I think getting out of it unscathed was pretty lucky.
Aren’t they good kitties? They don’t do much, just kind of sit there and act unconcerned, have a little bit of a bath now and then. Too proud to act as if they’re really hungry, but not above begging if that will work better than playing it cool.
It’s 2:37 for no particular reason, that’s just when Mewsette got up and left. From the left: Jelly Bean, Mimi, Giuseppe, Mr. Sunshine, Mewsette, to the tune of Edward Grieg’s “Peer Gynt, Suite No.1, Op.46: II. Ases Dod (The Death Of Ase)” because it’s playing on the radio while I’m filming (except for the part that’s crackly, not sure why, but it might have something to do with having dipped this thing into the creek last year, or it’s my electric personality).
You can also see it directly on YouTube.

I love this picture and video, Bernadette! If not for the video, it would be hard to believe their patience and unconcern about their food. With all the cats I’ve had in my life, I’ve never had one that would wait patiently like that without making a peep but you have FIVE that are doing the unheard of! Love the eyes and the music!
Susan, they have their moments, but I think because they are all such a group they keep each other calm.
Bernadette, I love this video – it’s very comforting, along with the music. I can’t believe the kitties just sit there so patiently!
Chris, they are really something, such a tight group.
