Daily Photo: Mewsette and Giuseppe Review Sketches

Mewsette takes a sidelong glance at my paintings of her, trying to be polite.

What do I think of these? These are sketches of me?

Oh, please.

Oh, please…don’t show that to anyone. I don’t look like that.

Mewsette takes a look at a few quick watercolor sketches I did of her the other night and lets me know what she thinks. In my defense, these were the two that were interrupted by playful brothers, so they are barely even begun; you can see the ones I posted here. But kitties have their opinions, including Giuseppe.

And you call yourself an artist?

Giuseppe gives his opinion of my work.

The paint water got more attention than my paintings.

Mewsette inspects the shelf and Giuseppe considers tasting the paint water. The paintings are ignored.

Perhaps I’ll see if these brushes have anything more interesting to offer.

Mewsette checks the brushes for signs of interesting things.

*Sigh.*

The life of an artist’s model. Everyone thinks it’s glamorous, risqué, naughty, even indecent, but when the artist is your human mom, and she’s more interested in experimenting, it’s just, well…it makes me very sleepy.

Mewsette’s views on being an artist’s model.

Human art critics have nothing on cats. At least they don’t sleep on your paintings.

    • Oh, RumpyDog, for decades I had to hang my art high enough on the wall to avoid being puked on! But this group with the raw diet rarely every has the need–so glad, one less thing to do and worry about!
