Daily Photo: Iz Adopted!

Iz adopted!
Iz adopted!

I know I have some important work ahead of me—I have a human to teach all about me! I’ve heard about these things and I hope it works out like they say. I guess we’ll see! I hear the lady already has a calico kitty that she rescued—and I guess we’ll see about that too! But the human told me they had a long talk and the lady sounds like the kind of person who will understand when I climb the drapes and leap off the counter and get myself into tiny spaces because I am a Mighty Girl! And she has a little male human and a big male human too, but as soon as she saw me she knew she had to have ME!

For now, though, I’m going to stay here and take care of my mom and play with my sibs until they say I’m “ready”. I’m not sure what that means but I guess I’ll find that out too!

It’s not a surprise to me that Splash was the first adopted! Everyone loves a calico, but she has also been the friendliest, most human-oriented kitten in the whole litter from day one, reaching up to touch my hand when I reached down to pet her, loving snuggles and being carried around in a pocket. I think that shows in her photos. And she is a funny-fierce little girl, good-natured, the smallest by far, but the first one to do everything. She will stay with Charm and her siblings until they are all ready to be spayed and neutered, at least eight weeks of age, and at least two pounds. She’s a little one, so it may be a little longer than that. But I’m so happy one of Charm’s wonderful children has an incredible home to go to.

I am grateful to Pittsburgh CAT as well, because that’s where Splash’s adopter saw her. The organization has a comprehensive adoption program with an application that requests information about housing and family, about other pets and their level of care, and a vet check to see what the veterinarian has to say about their level of care. The prospective adopter is checked by Tarra, who then gives the foster home the adopter’s number to talk it over and see what we think. I thought this woman was beyond incredible.

For a little kitten who almost ended up on the mean streets, I couldn’t share better news! Click here to see Charm and the rest of Charm’s kittens!

  • Awwww – I’m so happy for Splash! I’m a little jealous, though – if I wasn’t halfway across the country and didn’t already have two senior cats, I’d
love to have adopted her…… such a little beauty. Good luck to her sibs. too.

    • Kay, Splash is one of the sweetest, most people-oriented kittens I’ve seen in a long time–and very pretty too! I hope her siblings are snatched up too, just wait until you see their photos.
