Daily Photo: Happy Black Cat Day!

Six black cats on my lap!
Six black cats on my lap!

Well, yes, it’s Black Cat Day every day of the year here with still nine black cats in residence among regulars and fosters! I asked Dr. Michelle to take a few photos of me with my cats for another purpose (does one really need a reason?) and they are to be used in black and white. I thought I’d share of few of them here. Above I have Mimi and her children, and Simon joined the party, on or around my lap.

Below I have the basic Four, and Giuseppe and Bean are first in line for love.

Coming up for pets!
Coming up for pets!

I’m sitting on the table in front of the big window, the only place in the house there is enough natural light for a good photo in this entire little house, but still photographing all those black cats is difficult. I did have a lure for them, but whenever I do something like sit in a new spot or call them to play, most of them show up, mostly Mimi and her children. Below, all five are lined up, beginning with Mimi.

All five lined up.
All five lined up.

The only foster who showed up is Simon, and he was the only one who had the sense to look at the camera! That kitten knows exactly how to manipulate people with his cuteness!

Simon steals the show.

I also left the camera on 800 ISO so the photos are grainy, but it’s probably the only reason some of them were actually clear with the light conditions. Here we are again with lots of love for my Four siblings, Giuseppe and Bean, and Sunshine and Mewsette.

Yes I treasure you. Yes I have treats hidden somewhere.

But really, I never get to see myself with my cats, I can only imagine. I’m so glad to have these, grainy though they are. Below, I get to hug them all at once, sort of. When I first met them, all four could fit in my two hands.

I get to hug all four at once.

  • I love the pictures, they radiate contentment! The kitties were very cooperative. They always look good together; so maybe somehow they know that, LOL.

I think the pictures are wonderful just the way they are Bernadette…I believe any graininess makes them seem dreamlike..and what a dream it is…The look of joy on your face says it all…That’s how I feel when I’m surrounded by my little loves…

    • Thanks, Bluemoonalone, I do use film grain for just that purpose now and then, and then it also softens certain features on a woman my age…
