Daily Photo: Don’t Encourage Her

two black cats
Are you kidding?! She’s all mine!
“Don’t encourage her, Sunshine. We won’t get to eat until midnight if she really starts taking pictures of us.”

“Are you kidding, bro? She’s all mine! All I have to do is tilt my head and she gets weak in the knees!”

The boys were being extra cute in the sun on the stairs today. Yes, I spent a lot of time taking their photos, and you’ll be seeing others from this photo shoot as time goes on. In fact, it was really difficult to decide which one to use, especially when Bean joined them. The three boys together, yes I do get a little weak in the knees, and I also want to get a good angle for the next photo!

The other choice of quote for this was Giuseppe: “That fool is no relative of mine.”

And might I point out…the glowing reddish string hanging out of Mr. Sunshine’s mouth? Yep, that’s one of mine. Guess it’s only fair when I probably eat tons of cat hair all the time. Really, when I see them like this, I gently pull them out; my hair is pretty coarse and I want to be careful in any measure. And there’s one on the toy in the foreground too…Friday, time to clean!

. . . . . . .

Giuseppe and Mr. Sunshine have a special message for you about two other very special black cats, brother and sister Ray Charles and Sister Rachel who are looking for a special home, together!

Ray Charles and Sister Rachel are looking for a home!

From our blogging friend Glogirly, who designed the graphic above, “They were both born with a genetic condition called ENTROPION, which involves a portion of the eyelid being folded inward. Both have had surgery to alleviate some of the damage to their sight. Rachel can now see just fine. Ray has some of his sight, but that doesn’t stop him from being a normal, playful, sweet boy! Many generous friends have donated wonderful items to a “hope chest” for them. Currently they are located in the Reidsville, NC area.”.

They may have a few unique qualities that some people may think makes them “imperfect”, but they can love just as perfectly as any two sleek house panthers, and that’s why we adopt, isn’t it? You can find out more about them by visiting their Facebook page and their blog. You can also click here to pull up a flyer that you can share.

Petties-nominateAnd the Petties were awarded today! The Creative Cat did not win, but we are glad for all who did because animals all over the country will benefit with thousands of dollars in donations. Thanks so much for voting for us—that alone was an award! Until next year, or the next opportunity to benefit animals in some way, I’m sure we’ll find other ways to get in trouble. If you want to see who won, you can watch the ceremony online. It lasts about 20 minutes.

In the meantime, The Four Housecats of the Apocalypse will be dreaming up other ways to show you how you can help cats and all animals just by doing simple things like voting and sharing—like helping Ray and Rachel, above, find a home!
