Daily Photo: Are You Ready…for Bert?

Bert’s beauty shot.

The light and the timing were finally right, as was the mess in my bathroom where Bert and Ernie live, and I got some good photos of them. Of course, I had to make them play hard, hence the mess we made. While Ernie is a natural ham—who wouldn’t be with that face?—Bert’s slightly more reserved nature appears handsome and dignified even though he gave the pin pong balls and fleece mousies and father toys a scare with all his leaps and smacks and bites.

Looking casual.

Bert is a medium-haired orange kitty with lovely orange eyes to match. He’s a little on the petite side, and a little shy right now, but once the treats come out and playtime begins he forgets all about that. Once he knows you he purrs when he sees you and bosses you around—he is very vocal! We don’t have much time together for him to be a lap cat, and he has his brother Ernie to compete with for that, but he loves his pets and kisses.

The tiger!

Bert was likely born in May 2014. He was trapped along with his brother Ernie in August 2014 and taken to a shelter. Acting “feral” they were to be euthanized but PittsburghCAT’s contact with the shelter offered to give them another chance. They’ve come a long way from where they started, and they deserve a really happy forever home, together or apart. So just scroll down and browse these photos! The first three are more accurate for color, taken with my DSLR, the others with my Smartphone are more contrasty and his eyes are too dark. Bert is up for adoption through PittsburghCat though he may be spoken for, but if you are interested to be on the list for Bert’s attentions please contact me!
