Daily Photo: A New Studio Cat
Can you find Mariposa in this photo? This is my studio, though you might have guessed by the paints and pastels. I’ve been holding off letting her into the house because some areas are stacked and cluttered as I shift things around in a house with no space. My biggest concern is that she would be frightened and hide where I couldn’t find her, or I might have to traumatize her by dragging her out of some space that might not be safe.
But possibly a kitty who grew up in a filthy abandoned house isn’t so concerned about clutter. She looks pretty calm about things.
And there’s a new window to look out of.
And then, of course, there’s me.
But she didn’t spend her whole day in the studio. Basil spent a lot of Monday making a fool of himself racing up and down the steps and playing with everything so that Mariposa would feel more comfortable in the bedroom and going down the stairs.
She was in the good paws of both Basil and a loudly purring Jelly Bean who was also playing to encourage her.
But later, back to the studio. She’s learning to carefully walk around my piles of things.
I guess she really does like the human! We both enjoyed a petting session after she subdued the mouse.

And sometimes, I just throw my hands in the air and have fun!
She is a doll! Seems like she’s making huge strides with the help of her mates and the human.
She truly is amazing for where she grew up. And she’s cuter than cute!
She’s so sweet! I live in a very small house too and seem to have piles everywhere. I sometimes think Mudpie looks at it like a giant adventure! LOL
Melissa, I’ve always called those piles of stuff “environmental enrichment”. They certainly made use of them! As does Mudpie.
totally off post; I like the art gallery on the two walls !!! ☺☺ happee howl o ween two evere one say da tabbiez ~~~~~ ♥♥
Oh, in my stairwell! That was the only wall space I had left! I have to get better lights for it, but I have no idea what I’d do with all that art if I didn’t have that wall space.
