Cats for Adoption: Thelma and Louise Urgently Need a Home, and Sassy Needs Surgery

Meet Thelma and Louise

Thelma and Louise are another two lovely kitties whose person had to go to a personal care home, and then they’ve had to shuffle around through four foster homes through no fault of their own. On top of it, they are a little shy, but they are sweet and loving with time and very well-behaved. Unfortunately their current foster home must give them up as well for a family issue, read below in the message from their sponsor:

Meet Thelma & Louise!

BEAUTIFUL 1 ½ year old sisters are in URGENT need of a home!

Their owner had to surrender these two cats to move into assisted living where she couldn’t take them. She has had them since they were kittens, but they are scared and a little timid to strangers but will warm up to a true cat lover.

They have been placed four times since their original surrender, at no fault of them. They are well behaved, never had any issues with scratching or bathroom problems, friendly with their current foster and loving to their 9 year old daughter.

The foster unfortunately has to give them up. Her father is moving in with her and into the cat’s room. We have nowhere for them to go, this is an URGENT plea for help!

They need a patient home with an understanding owner to work with them and let them come to them. They are fully vetted and UTD on all shots. They must go to a calm home with no young kids. They also must go together as the one is very dependent on her sister.

Thelma and Louise are currently fostering with a family in Harrison City, near Greensburg, PA. If you can foster or adopt them, please contact if interested contact Kellie Haldie at [email protected].

Sassy Needs a Little More Surgery

Sassy at the vet.

You may remember Sassy who was rescued and in the care of Animals Against the Odds (AATO) in October. Sassy was found bleeding and injured, rushed to VCA Castle Shannon who transferred her to Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center (PVSEC) for an orthopedic surgeon to evaluate a broken upper jaw. She had a broken upper jaw, possible orbital fracture and a high white blood cell count. With all that she was social, relaxed and friendly, and AATO pledged to do everything possible for this sweet kitten but need help with the huge emergency vet bill and follow-up procedures.

Sassy has had one successful reconstructive surgery but her white blood cell count is still high. Sassy’s mouth continues to heal, but as you can see her adult teeth are growing through the roof of her mouth! She definitely needs reconstructive surgery to correct the dental issues, as well as the hole in her upper palate She is under the care of PVSEC where she is quickly charming the scrubs off the staff. This super sweet, amazing kitten has a long way to go, but she is improving daily. Information about donating to help with her care is in Kittens and Cats, Rescued and In Need.

If you are on Facebook you can read more about AATO and find updates on Sassy and other cats they are rescuing and placing.

Please help get Sassy the second surgery she needs at PVSEC. http://aato.chipin.com/sassys-orthopedic-surgery-pvsec. This also helps AATO help all the other animals they are fostering and providing veterinary care for and feeding and tending outdoors through the winter.

Give these cats a holiday gift!

Thelma and Louise would love to be in a more permanent home and settling in after their confusing year, and sweet Sassy deserves her surgery before all her adult teeth come in. Help these and other cats this holiday season by opening your home or donating for their care. Read about other ways you can help all pets this holiday season.
