Cats for Adoption: Prada and Her Kittens

FIRST: It’s critical that we adopt kittens pretty quickly for a while—our Pittsburgh CAT foster homes are now officially out of space and we can no longer rescue kittens and cats and take them into foster, we can only provide TNR services at clinics. Some of our foster homes have 30 or more kittens and cats and many of them need medical treatment for upper respiratory infections or even bottle feeding. If you are in the Pittsburgh area and you can foster even one litter of kittens, please contact Pittsburgh CAT, fill out an application and we will supply you with kittens before you have lunch.

And now for these kittens…

This entire litter of beautiful semi-longhaired kittens will be ready for adoption in a week or two! They are about seven weeks old and will be spayed/neutered and get their first round of vaccines in the next two weeks. Wouldn’t you like to pair a couple of them up–like those two white fuzzballs with gray spots, or those two tabbies? Such beautiful markings! Counterclockwise from the handsome tabby on the left, they are: Jaspurr (Jasper, larger brown tabby with rounded M), Speckle (white with gray spots, spot on chin and near eye), Oreo (tuxedo), Agate (smaller brown tabby with pointed M) and Spatter (with with gray spots, white face). I also have feature photos of them below.

Their mom is ready now! Another sweet house panther mom cat, Prada is a social girl around the house, greeting people at the door and bossing all the other cats around. She is mom to this litter of kittens and is spayed and has up to date on all vaccines, ready to sit around and look elegant in your home.

Jaspurr is a big boy already with a distinctive “M” on his forehead and lovely stripes and spots all over. He is very laid back and easy to handle. He is semi-longhaired and will be ready for adoption after the first week of July.

Speckle is white with soft gray spots, and very silky medium-length fur, eyes are still a nice shade of blue and will be ready for adoption after the first week of July.

Who could resist that face?! Oreo is a semi-longhaired tuxedo who will be ready for adoption after the first week of July. She is friendly and a real rascal–she played the food bowl troll for hours at the pet fair making everyone wrestle with her to get food.

Agate is sweet classic brown tabby with a creamy chin and neck, semi-longhaired and will be ready for adoption after the first week of July.

Spatter is soft silky white medium hair with gray spots, eyes are still a nice shade of blue and will be ready for adoption after the first week of July.

We are overloaded with cute little kittens, but don’t forget the older kittens and adults!

Amazon Wish Lists

The Amazon Wish List for our group’s foster kittens.

Many rescuers pay out of pocket for veterinary care and food but the costs of raising even the average litter of four healthy kittens is more than many people have, and many rescues have greater needs. Pittsburgh CAT has a number of wish lists that include foods for feeding neo-natal kittens like KMR, and other lists that include the best kitten foods, adult cat foods, food and materials for feral cats, and preferred toys and litter.

Can’t adopt? Foster! Can’t foster? Donate or volunteer.

There are so many ways you can help cats who need homes and care. You may not have room to adopt another cat, but can foster a cat or kitten for a few weeks. If not that, you can volunteer at a shelter or with a rescue, or donate. You do this because you love your cat, and by doing so you help all cats. No matter which of these actions you take, you help to save a life, and make life better for all cats.

  • Adopt one of the cats I’ve posted here, or from any shelter or rescue near you, or from Petfinder, to open up a space for another cat to be rescued and fostered.
  • Offer to foster cats or kittens for a shelter or rescue near you.
  • Volunteer at a shelter or rescue.
  • Find a group of volunteers who work with homeless cats and help them with their efforts.
  • Donate to a shelter or rescue near you.

If you can foster kittens or adults cats to help prepare them for a forever home, please run to your nearest shelter and find a cat who needs you! Anyone can help with this effort at any level, even if all you do is donate to a shelter or rescue so they can help to pay for the food or medications needed for their foster, or the spay/neuter/veterinary care during a clinic.
